About Us
The 308 Squadron, City of Cracow is an Aces High II squadron. We are mostly made up of polish speaking members, so radio chatter is mostly not understandable on range for other country members.
Squad night is on Sundays, 9pm central EU time, which is 3pm EST.

308 RAF History
The Squadron was formed from the remaining pilots of the second Fighter Wing in Cracow (In September 1939 this wing was part of the Cracow army group) in the early part of September 1940 on the Squires Gate airfield in Blackpool, England.  The personel list was finalized on the 9th of September 1940 and on the 12th the Squadron numbering 170 personel was moved to the Spece airfield near Liverpool. On this airfield the Polish pilots first saw their training aircraft (Master) and the Hurricane.
The 24th of November 1940 the squadron noted its first confirmed kill, scored by pilot Mieczyslaw Pafarinski shooting down a twin engine Ju-88. Whats interesting about this event is that this kill was made during a training sortee, an event which was mimicked in the movie Battle of Britain.
The squadron became fully operational on the 1st of December, 1940 in preparation to fight night raids by the Nazi Luftwaffe onto British soil.
In the early part of 1940, the squadron was equiped with Spitfires. The new fighters were soon mastered by the pilots, which was proven by fighter pilot Wandzilak, who was the first from the group of pilots of PSP to shoot down a Fw-190 in September of 1941.
